Disguise an Icon to Shutdown the Computer!

Introduction: Disguise an Icon to Shutdown the Computer!

This is a little add-on to this instructable. I will guarantee that the file will be executed if the victim uses the Internet a lot. It makes the icon look like its an app that launches firefox or IE but really shuts down the computer.

First step is to follow the instructable:

https://www.instructables.com/id/April-Fools-Day-contest-A-simple-computer-prank

Step 1: Changing the Icon.

You now have the shutdown shortcut, but it looks suspicious. All you need to do is right click it, click properties, and at the bottom of the window, click on change icon.

-If you want it to look like a firefox app, paste this into the "Look for icons in this file" Box.
C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe
-Press enter
-Click on the firefox icon you want it to look like.
-Click ok.

-To make the icon the internet explorer icon, enter %ProgramFiles%\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE Instead of C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe

*If you want it to look like any other icon, Instead of entering C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe, Enter the programs .exe file and it should bring up the icon you want.

-Last step is to delete or put the original shortcut in a file and re-name the shutdown icon to firefox or whatever app you want.

*Remember the code you need to put into the run dialog to cancel it is: shutdown -a

    shutdown -s -t xxx
xxx = how long you want it to take to shutdown

another way to do it is to just change the shortcuts properties and edit the target to
    shutdown.exe -s -t 10 -c "X"
10 is the time in seconds it will be before the computer will shutdown
X can be what ever text you want to show up as an error message
