Introduction: Diy Audio Splitter
So I managed to make a pretty easy and straightforward audio splitter from some spare parts. Sorry about the picture quality, I only have a crappy point and shoot as a camera. Hoping for a DSLR someday.
Step 1: Step One, Parts
So what I used for this project was one half of an aux cord, a mic/headphone jack set i took from an old desktop. (mine was set up with 2 usb ports and 1 mic and 1 headphone jack pit together in the front grill, and then a cable leading to the mobo.) And also you will need wire strippers, and either electrical tape or a soldering iron and solder. (solder works best but I dont have any right now)
Step 2: Building the Audio Splitter
So my aux cord has 3 wires, black, red and white. My headphone jack had a white, black, and a ground wire. My other jack had many different colored wires. You will only need 2 of them. Take the white wire from the aux cord and connect it to the white on the jack, then do the same with the black. On the jack with all the wires, you will need to find the corresponding connections like the headphone jack. Cut off any wires you don't need. Then do the exact same thing you did with the other jack. Attach the white aux wire where the white wire would be on the jack, and do the same with the black.
Step 3: Done
That is basically all there is to it. I decided to place mine inside of an old wired pc mouse and drill some holes in the side. It works pretty well but it's touch because I didn't solder it. And sorry if this isn't the best instructable, it's my first one. If you need any help just ask.
