How did that work out for you?
Just as I thought :)
In this Instructable, we'll have a look at a way to make a Magic Wand.
Maybe it will not do real magic, but your victims don't have to know that.

STEP 1:
I got 2 stainless steel chopsticks.
Even though they look the same, one was a little bit longer and thicker.
I cut them both in half.
STEP 2:
Then I sanded the bottom.
STEP 3:
I made a few holes in the thickest chopstick's bottom.
STEP 4:
After putting some glue on neodymium magnets, I put them in the other chopstick.
STEP 5:
Then I glued a piece of plastic to the other side of the magnet.
(so the drill bit we'll use does not stick to the magnet)
STEP 6:
I cut a shot from the cap and put it onto a drill bit.
Now put the drill bit inside of the wand and close it.
STEP 7:
That's it!
Our magic Wand is ready!
You can do 2 things with it.
1. Make a mini explosion + smoke
2. Put a laptop to sleep.
With a quick motion of your hand, you can trigger a mini explosion with smoke (just like a cap gun)
With the other side of the wand, you can put a laptop to sleep (great for a prank)
It works because of the magnetic switch in your laptop.
