Dog Poop Bag Holder From Used Prescription Bottle!

Introduction: Dog Poop Bag Holder From Used Prescription Bottle!

About: I'm a beach bum who builds high end electric cars. I share my life with a very good dog named Dave. I love surfing, dancing, and berries, and I hate disposable plastic. I used to be an artist. A really fucki…

Here's a way to use up old prescription bottles and clean up after your best friend! They are easy and fun to make and make good gifts for dog owners.

Step 1: Gather Supplies and Tools

a large size prescription bottle with a neck
a clip style keychain
a plastic zip tie (or wire)
a soldering iron (or drill bit)
Optional: Stickers or contact paper for decorating (I used bamboo contact paper and stickers from and Old Navy promotion)

Step 2: Poke 2 Holes in Bottle

Poke 2 holes in the bottom of the bottle to slide the zip tie through. I used a soldering iron, if you use this method, use a well ventilated area. I prefer a soldering iron to a drill, because the plastic and thin and may crack if you use a hand drill. The soldering iron makes neat holes without sharp edges.

Step 3: Push a Zip Tie Through the Holes

pre crimp the zip tie to make it easier to get back out of the prescription bottle, then slide the zip tie in one hole and out the other. Attach the key chain clip to the prescription bottle with the zip tie.

Step 4: Finish!

Clip off the excess end of the zip tie and decorate with contact paper, colored tape or stickers. Stuff plastic bags into the bottle and you are ready to clip the Poop bag holder to your dog's leash and go for a walk.

I don't pick up after my Lab, but he has sort of a weird habit. It deposits on bushes a shrubs, almost without failure. Good for the plants, and unlikely to get stuck to someone's shoe, unless they are working on the landscaping...
