Introduction: Dog House for Claustrophobic Dogs
This idea started a long time ago when we bought our dog a house and she was to scared to go in. She was to claustrophobic and didn't like it. So I built her a lean to so she can watch the neighbors and stay out of the weather. The floor is a pallet and the corner posts are 3/4 inch plywood strips ripped down the middle. The rest of the frame is strapping ,once I had the corner posts on it was simple. I just had to run strapping down the ends and across the front and back. Next you just run boards flat from the high side to the low side. Lastly you must cover the roof I had no tarp so I used a large contractor garbage bag. These are thick, waterproof and black. Just for extra measure I put a hook into the 4 by 4 post that supports our basketball net and on the other side of the roof into a large screw stake for dogs lines a rachet strap goes over the roof and hooks into these to keep it from blowing away in high wind. Thanks for reading coments are welcome.

If you position the stake farther away so the lean-to is at the edge of its radius, your pup will be less likely to get wrapped around the support posts. Then, just angle the lean-to so the wider side is toward the stake

Awww, what a great idea. I'll have to make my dog one of these once we've got a bigger yard. He's huge and hates small spaces. :)
