Intro: Dolly Slider

El proyecto nace de la necesidad de poder grabar tomas lineales y de paneo sin el movimiento de la mano sobre la cámara. Poder generar un movimiento suave y fino.

STEP 1: Materiales Y Herramientas

Para el Dolly:

  • Madera de 9mm
  • 6 rodamientos de 10x28
  • 11 pernos de 5/16
  • 23 tuercas de 5/16
  • Angulo de aluminio de 1´´
  • 3 tubos de pvc de 33mm
  • 4 codos de pvc de 33mm

Para la cabeza de tripode:

  • Madera de 9mm
  • Hilo de 1/4
  • 3 tuercas de 1/4
  • 2 mariposas de 1/4
  • 2 pernos de cabeza redonda de 1/4
  • Tornillos de 3x1 1/4
  • Mango de bicicleta (opcional)

Herramientas:

  • Sierra de mesa
  • Sierra de metal
  • Llave
  • Alicate
  • Cola fría para madera
  • Poxipol
  • Lija de mesa (opcional)

STEP 2: Como Funciona

Los rieles de pvc junto con los rodamientos permiten las tomas lineales.

Los trozos circulares bajo la cabeza del trípode permiten el paneo horizontal.

El tubo de pvc permite el paneo vertical.

La mariposa inferior libera o detiene el paneo horizontal.

El mango libera o detiene el paneo vertical.

Los pernos de cabeza redonda fijan la cámara a la cabeza de tripode.

Si tienes una impresora 3D te ahorras unos euros en madera y te puedes imprimir el slider. Ya sea al 100% o recortar y una base de DM e imprimir solo los soportes. Te dejo un link donde puedes encontrar el proyecto 100% gratuito

This project was born out of the necessity to record lineal and panning shots without the shaky camera on hand. To be able to generate a subtle and smooth movement.

Step 1: Materials and tools

For the Dolly:


  • 9mm wood
  • 6-10x28 ball bearings
  • 11- 5/16" bolts
  • 23- 5/16" nuts
  • 1" aluminum angle
  • 3- 33mm pvc pipes
  • 4- 33mm pvc elbows

For the tripod head:


  • 9mm wood
  • 1/4" string
  • 3- 1/4" screws
  • 2 - 1/4" butterfly nuts
  • 2- 1/4" round-headed bolts
  • Multiple 3x1 1/4" screws
  • bike handle (optional)

Tools:


  • Table saw
  • hacksaw
  • Wrench
  • pliers
  • Wood glue
  • Poxipol (I think this is a hard plastic adhesive used in Argentina)
  • Sander (optional)
Step 2: How does it works?

The pvc rails combined with the ball bearings allow linear shots.

The circular parts under the tripods head allow the horizontal panning.

The pvc pipe allows vertical panning.

The inferior butterfly nut frees or stops the horizontal panning.

The handle allows and stops the vertical panning.

The round headed bolts set the camera to the tripods head.
