Doormat Made Out of Straw

when we talk about decorating our house, we also talk about having a cute, unique doormat. and just imagine a doormat made by yourself, with your own hands then it adds value to our decoration at another level.

when i was thinking about making a doormat, the first thing came into my mind was that it should be durable, easy and cheap to make. so i thought why not make it out of straw..

so in this instructable let me share with you how to make a doormat using straw in just few steps.

Step 1: Materials

What you need is

straw

scissor

forceps

iron

butter paper

Step 2: Reference...

you can create a grid on a paper as a reference to place pieces of straw. or else you can use a cardboard as a base.

Step 3: Beginning...

first decide a size of your mat. (the size of mat which i made is 23" x 14")

take a cardboard and mark 1 cm on it.

taking this cardboard as a reference cut pieces of straw.

cut required amount of pieces.

Step 4: Arranging...

arrange the pieces in a design of your choice.

i have arranged them in alternate pattern. ( 10 rows of each color)

arrange them carefully.

Step 5: Ironing

place butter paper on arranged pieces carefully and neatly.

and iron them. ( ironing will stick them together and make it firm)

iron from both sides (back and front)

Step 6: Ready...

done...

your mat is ready... use it to welcome your guest...
