Introduction: Double Cherry Pie
This is an entry to the Pie Contest so do not forget to vote!
Step 1: Ingredients
For this recipe you will need the following:
Crust
-1/2 Cup Miniature Semisweet Chocolate Pieces
-5 Table Spoons Butter
-3/4 Cup Rolled Oats
-3/4 Cup All-purpose Flour
-1/4 Cup Packed Brown Sugar
-1 20-Ounce Can Reduced-Calorie Cherry Pie Filling
Filling
-1 16-Ounce Can Pitted Tart Red Cherries
-1/4 Teaspoon Almond Extract
-1/2 Cup All Purpose
-2 Tablespoons Brown Sugar
-2 Tablespoons Rolled Oats
-3 Tablespoons Butter
-1/4 Cup Miniature Semisweet Chocolate Pieces
Step 2: Crust
For the Crust you will need the:
-1/2 Cup Miniature Semisweet Chocolate Pieces
-5 Table Spoons Butter
-3/4 Cup Rolled Oats
-3/4 Cup All-purpose Flour
-1/4 Cup Packed Brown Sugar
Grease a circular pie pan, mine is 10 inches. In a pan melt the chocolate pieces and the butter over low heat. Next mix in the Oats, Sugar, and Flour. Press this mixture into the pie tin, cover the bottom and the sides with it. Bake it in a 350 degree oven for 8-10 minutes.
Step 3: Filling
For the Filling you will need the:
-1 20-Ounce Can Reduced-Calorie Cherry Pie Filling
-1 16-Ounce Can Pitted Tart Red Cherries
-1/4 Teaspoon Almond Extract
When the crust is baking combine the Cherries, The Cherry pie filling, and the Almond Extract. Pour this into the crust.
Step 4: Topping
For the topping you will need the:
-1/2 Cup All Purpose
-2 Tablespoons Brown Sugar
-2 Tablespoons Rolled Oats
-3 Tablespoons Butter
-1/4 Cup Miniature Semisweet Chocolate Pieces
In a bowl Stir the Flour, Sugar, and the Oats. Use a pastry blender* to cut in the butter until it looks like crumbs. then add in the chocolate pieces. sprinkle this mixture over the pie, and bake in a 350 degree oven for 40-45 minutes. Serves ten.
*If you do not have one just use two knives.
Step 5: Enjoy!

OMG! My mouth is watering just thinking about this. Cherries and chocolate are one of my all time favorite combos. Even if I don't make it beforehand, I'm voting for this one, it's like a cherry cobbler kicked up a few notches. Add a scoop of French Vanilla ice cream and you'd have heaven on a plate. Or bowl.

this could be done with other types of pie filling right? because im not really into cherries otherwise looks reallly good

Go ahead and try! Try putting in Peaches, Blueberries, Strawberries, Apples. Whatever you like, I am sure it will turn out just as tasty! Im guessing you will find the products in the same section, the pie fillings are in the baking section I recall seeing all of those fruits above and more! while the other fruits are in the canned fruit section. Bake it and send me a pic! Doc Cool
