Here is a common technique to have zero downtime for a vehicle air filter. All it requires are 2 filters (washable) and 10 minutes.

Step 1: Removing the Dirty Filter.

Step 2: Comparison.

See the difference in service state? Soon the clean one will be in!

Step 3: Install the Clean One.

Again the flat head screwdriver to install the clean filter. Took only 4 minutes to reach this point.

Step 4: Cleaning the Dirty One.

Using engine degreaser I cleaned that dirty filter. See all that dirty grime running out of it? That's the junk clogging the filter.

After cleaning the filter was left to dry in the storage room. In about 3 months it will be rotated back in the car.
