Dragon Wing Ear Cuff
Intro: Dragon Wing Ear Cuff
Hey everyone it's momo and today I'm going to show you how to make a nerdy mythical dragon wing that clamps on your ear ;) I hope that you all have so much fun doing this and have fun wearing it
STEP 1: Supplies
1- pliers
2- round nose pliers
3- wire cutters
4- jewelry wire (22-24 gauge)
2- round nose pliers
3- wire cutters
4- jewelry wire (22-24 gauge)
STEP 2: Make the Loop
First you need to make a small loop that lines the inside part of your ear. This line is shown in the picture
STEP 3: Start Going Out
Now you need to start the source. To go this, you need to make a loop like above with your pliers. Then make a little hump with your fingers
STEP 4: Wing Boomps
To make the wings bumps, just take your fingers and bend it into a small bump.
STEP 5: Put It All Together
To make the piece sort of complete, you need to make a bump over your entire ear. To make it more accurate, you should look in a mirror and put it against your ear. Make it your size.
STEP 6: Wrap
Now to make the swirled part. Starting from where you are wrap the tight spiral part to connect the round part on the inside of your ear to the part you just made.
STEP 7: The Long Spiral
Now from where you left off, you need to wrap equally the wire in a spiral. This reinforces it and makes it stronger and sturdier.
STEP 8: Branches
Make separate branches. To do this, wrap once, then make the branch. Wrap it again to the opposite side and cut it off. Repeat this process over and over until you have all 4 branches
STEP 9: Another Spiral
When you make your last branch, don't cut it, but wrap it again on the bottom side. Then make a part (see my elf ear cuff tutorial for details) that connects to the back of your ear. Then wrap it in a spiral so that too is reinforced.
STEP 10: Finish!
Thanks everyone for checking this out! Like and if you haven't already subscribe to the farm family and give a cow it's wings. Love y'all •_£

kiteman as to membrane do you mean something like a fabric piece to add color? It would probably be fairly easy cut a piece of fabric the right size and then you could glue it (hot glue?) or punch holes then use string to tie it on. :) I LOVE THIS PROJECT I HAVE TO TRY THIS!!!

Nope! it clips onto your ear easily with no piercing necessary!

I'm not sure I understand your question about a membrane. Do you mean the things I referred to as 'branches'? If so, you wrap the wire around a corner of the wing, and then put it straight out and wrap it around the opposite side. And yes, I do need the etsy pictures because I can compare if my pictures are a bit vague.

Do you have an estimate on how much wire is needed? 1 yard per ear?

You don't need to keep referring to that Etsy photo, just use your own images.
(I wonder how you could make a membrane for the wings...?)

Also, it looks like you have a couple extra empty steps at the end. If you are having trouble deleting them, this instructable https://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-Make-an-Instructable-Using-the-New-Editor/ shows you how. Hope that helps!

These are so cool! I've seen them before and I was wondering how they were made!
