Drawing a Jack-O-Lantern With Pastels

Step 1: Beginning

First, you want to do a rough sketch

Step 2: Start Coloring

Now you are going to start coloring it with orange and brown pastel.

Step 3: Blending

Blend the orange and brown together with your finger.

Step 4: Color and Blend the Eyes and Stem

Color the eyes and stem using black pastel for the eyes and green, black, and brown pastel for your stem, blend the colors of the stem together to make it look darker at the base of the stem.

Step 5: Add Shadows

Add black and more brown to show the shadows on the Jack-O-Lantern

Step 6: Start on the Background

Start coloring the background with black and gray, then blend them together using your finger

Step 7: End

Finish blending and coloring them your done.

That looks really good! Adding the shadows in step 4 really brings it to life. You should put the finished picture in the intro step so that it appears in the thumbnail.
