Whether you’re a filmmaker, or a photographer, you’ve probably been in the situation where you need some more light. This happens to me a lot, so i decided i needed a Portable DSLR Light. A good one can cost between 50 and 100 dollars, so I decided to make my own for under 10 Canadian dollars. See Step One for the parts needed.

Step 1: Parts You Will Need

Parts I already Had.

-Wires (Pulled from old appliance)

-Plexiglass, or piece of wood.

-A switch(Pulled from old appliance)

PARTS I BOUGHT

-5V Power Source. I used 18650 Battery and a booster Module

-5v Led Strips COLD WHITE

Hot Shoe Mount for DSLR

-I also used a Phone Tripod Mount, because it is strong, and cheap

Step 2: How to Put It Together

I used a piece of plexiglass to mount everything to. See the diagrams I drew to see how the wiring was hooked up. (LOOK AT THE VIDEO FOR MORE DETAILS)
