About: I am a conceptual artist, and my DIY projects are mostly inspired by pop culture (movies, music, sports, TV). I mostly specialize in painting, graphic design, drawing, digital photography, performance art, and…

For a cute and simple hair accessory, try making these cool Duct Tape Hair Clips!

Step 1: Materials

To make these colorful hair clips, you will need.

  • Scotch Duct Tape or Duck Brand Duct Tape
  • hair clips
  • cardstock paper
  • ruler
  • scissors
  • hot glue gun
  • small embellishments, like rhinestones

Step 2: Make Duct Tape Strips

Begin by measuring a piece of cardstock slightly bigger than your hair clip, then cut out the rectangle. From there, pull out a piece of duct tape and cover the cardstock rectangle with it. I suggest that you cut off the corners of the tape, so that way it'll be much more easier to fold over.

Step 3: Make Hair Clip

Now, hot glue the strip to a hair clip, and then, as desired, decorate with small embellishments, like small rhinestones, and let dry!

Step 4: Ready to Wear

Now, it's ready to put in your hair! It's as simple as that! You can make this using a variety of colors and patterns and they're sure to add color and pizazz into any little girl's hair!
