Introduction: Duct Tape Shoes(Remake With Laces!)
I have already posted an instructable on Duct Tape Shoes, but now i am going to add to it, and add laces. i am going to use the pictures from my last instructable, but add how to add laces onto them. i hope you enjoy this new addition. i am making this for the converse back to school in style contest.
Step 1: Get Supplies
you will need the following supplies-
scissors
Duct tape
cardboard(preferably thick)
a pen
a shoe or flip flop that fits you
and a string or anything that will work as laces.
Step 2: Trace Your Shoe and Cut It Out
trace your shoe onto the cardboard, using the pen, then cut out the tracing you made.
this will be the base.
Step 3: Cover the Cardboard
cover the cardboard in duct tape, use long strips of duct tape, making sure there is extra duct tape, this will make it easier and more comfortable. see pictures to clarify.
Step 4: Adding the Straps
to make a strap, take two pieces of duct tape, one smaller than the other, and put them together, the smaller one in the middle of the larger one. once that is done, attach the strap the the bottom of the sole you just made, the pictures should explain it.
Step 5: Continue This Process
continue doing this until you reach the toe, and when you reach the toe, just add a strip that has sticky on all sides, or at least 3.
Step 6: The Heel
to create the heel, take a piece of cardboard(the size varies from person to person, experiment what size you like) and cover it in duct tape.
then put it on the heel of your sole, and attach it to the sole.
Step 7: Add Sides
add the sides that connect the shoes and the straps
Step 8: Do the Next Shoe
repeat steps 4-7 on the other shoe
Step 9: Put More Duct Tape on the Sole
put duct tape on the sole, because now you will have lots of messy duct tape on the bottom of the shoe.
Step 10: Get Ready for Duct Tape Laces!
first, you will have to cut the tongue out. just guess on where to make it, try and have it centered. next you will have to make a lip for the eyes to go on. use extra duct tape to make this. finally, create the eyes with either a knife or with scissors.
Step 11: Make the Laces and Add Them to the Shoe
to be honest, this was the hardest part. well, to make the laces, just take duct tape, and make about the size of a shoe lace. then fold it a few times, cut it in half if needed, and add it to the shoes.
Step 12: You Are Done!
and there you have it, the new and improved duct tape shoes with duct tape laces! thanks for reading! have fun showing off your shoes!

Nice Job! Though I would recommend to put foam at the sole of the shoe, its quite uncomfortable without it! =)

Uhh ... What do you mean by the eye and the tounge?
Reply 12 years ago on Introduction
The tongue is the flap of cloth that holds the top of your foot in place, and the eyes are the holes for the lace.

why not just make a strip of duct tape cloth and cut it to 1/4 inch?
