Introduction: Duran Duran Paper Gods Pins

About: I am a conceptual artist, and my DIY projects are mostly inspired by pop culture (movies, music, sports, TV). I mostly specialize in painting, graphic design, drawing, digital photography, performance art, and…

Duran Duran had just released their 14th studio album "Paper Gods" in September of 2015, and has been the most celebrated and anticipated album in 5 years, since 2010's "All You Need is Now"! So, to celebrate, I want to take a little inspiration from Mark Montano's Emoji Pins project, and replace images of emojis with that of Duran Duran icons featured on the album cover.

PS: Imagine if Duran Duran would sell these during their concerts!

Step 1: Materials

To make these gorgeous pins, what you'll need are...

  • images of "Paper Gods" icons (you can Google Duran Duran Paper Gods and save the image to your computer)

  • thin cardboard

  • scissors

  • E6000 glue

  • Judikins Diamond Glaze

  • metal pin backs

Step 2: Google Paper Gods

Google Duran Duran's album "Paper Gods" and print out the images.

Step 3: Prepare the Cardboard

Cut out and glue 2 pieces of thin cardboard together.

Step 4: Mount and Cut

Now, mount the images to the cardboard and carefully cut them out.

Step 5: Make Them Into Pins

Now, to make the images into pins, add a layer of Diamond Glaze to the front and back of your image. This will make the pin bright and shiny. Then, finally attach a metal pin back to the back of your image with glue.

Step 6: Pin to Your Shirt

Once the pins are set, you're ready to wear them on your shirt!
