Introduction: E-cig Base Holder

Here's an simple, clean e-cig holder I made at Techshop! http://www.techshop.ws

Things you need:

5mm thick plywood

wood glue

laser cutter

250 grit sand paper

stain

polyurethane finish

Step 1: Design and Cut

Design your files to vector cut the wood. I used Corel Draw.

Cut the wood in the laser cutter.

Separate your parts.

Step 2: Glue

I used wood glue and applied it to the piece. Then I took a coffee stir stick and spread it out. Put the pieces together and clamp it. Wipe of the excess glue with a damp rag. I put the pieces with the holes together first, then applied the base.

Step 3: Sand, Stain, Finish

I used 250 grit sand paper to lightly sand any excess glue and give the sides a worn look.

After sanding, wipe off dust. And your ready to stain.

I used Varathane, Golden Pecan wood stain. Using a rag, dip in the stain and apply in the direction of the grain.

Wipe off any excess and let dry for 2-4 hours.

Once it is dry, you can apply the clear finish. I use Wipe on Poly. Simply shake the can and apply to a rag. Wipe on the wood in the direction of the grain. I apply 2 coats.
