Intro: EASY DESKTOP FAN WITH COOLER

Hi !

This is my first DIY.An easy desktop fan made with the SMPS of a PC.

STEP 1: REQUIREMENTS

1. Two 12v DC brushless fans.
2. A SMPS case (It is easily available in computer repair shops)
3.A switch and some wires
4.Heat sink (a processor's heat sink is enough)

STEP 2: PUTTING ALL TOGHETHER

1.Fix one fan to the air exhaust outlet of the SMPS

2.Fix the other fan to the opposite side of outlet with screws. BE SURE THAT THE FAN IS FIXED SUCH THAT IT'S AIRFLOW IS TOWARDS THE OTHER FAN.

NOTE: If nessary attach a heat sink to the backside of inlet fan and place an ice pack near it to have a cooler air.

3.Connect the wires of two fans in parallel combination and attach a switch for the inlet fan.

4.Extend the connection wire to the outside

5.Close the case and tight it with screws

6.Connect this wire to a 12v DC power adapter.Toggle the switch on.Home made desktop fan is ready to GO!!!!.

It isn't clear from your photos whether the IEC 230 V socket is connected to anything or not, but even if it is not connected to the fan circuit you should still remove it completely. Leaving the socket in place with the 230 V AC label next to it is just inviting someone to plug it into the mains supply.
Are you using the IEC 230 V connector to connect to the 12 V DC supply ? That is absolutely forbidden from a safety aspect. Someone could plug it in to the 230 V AC and electrocute themselves, especially with the bare wire connections inside the case. Please don't leave it in this condition. The 12 V connector must be a type which is incompatible with normal mains connecting cords.
I am sorry that I forgot to mention about the safety precautions.
When I made it I had insulated all the bare wires and I removed the insulation to make the viewer more clear.
I kept the IEC 230 V socket to make it look like a real SMPS.
