Introduction: Easiest Corn on the Cob... Ever!
Time for the best supermarket deals of the season... Corn!!!
Step 1: Prep Corn
Get your ingredients together...
corn, sharp knife
butter and salt
cob handles
misc flavorings like chili powder or garlic.
Pull tassles and leaf ends off. Save.
Put in microwave on 100% for 4-5 minutes. When done, let sit for a minute.
Step 2: Cut, Shake/Squeeze and Serve
With your knife and a potholder (unless you are fast) cut the cob at the stem shoulder.
Hold the thin, tassle end and shake or squeeze the cob from the husk.
Notice the silks are gone!
You now have a perfectly steamed and crispy corn on the cob ready for handles, butter and seasoning...
2 warnings...
First, it will be hot, so devour with caution...
Second, it is really good, so make extra to share...
Add 30-60 seconds for each extra in the microwave at the same time.
Step 3: Clean-Up
Be sure to toss the remains into your spare pig or compost bin. Our dog loves the Cob Chew Toy, too!
This makes less landfill from the grocery store from all the peelings and leaves left by unknowing shoppers...
bon eats!

It's supposed to have a fair amount of 'snap', right?

yes.... cook it a little longer or let it sit in it's husk if you like it a little softer... I prefer my veggies a bit crisp rather than mushy like my mom made... ;)

By no means do I claim to be the originator of this idea... I just think it is a crime to let corn be boiled to mushiness... Enjoy!
