Introduction: Easiest Diy Black Light Out of Any Flashlight!

Doesn't that intro image look cool?

Believe it or not, it was drawn using plain yellow highlighter!

You can do exactly the same thing with any torch, all you have to do is follow the steps!

The first photo is using the black light ad the second photo is the "control" normal light.

Read on to find out how...

Step 1: Parts:

All you need is the following:

  1. Rubber bands
  2. One BLUE SHARPIE
  3. One PURPLE SHARPIE
  4. one torch (or flashlight for the Americans)
  5. Some Glad wrap/Cling wrap/Saran wrap/CLEAR STUFF!
  6. Some scissors to cut the Glad wrap/clin---- I think you read the above...
  7. Some slight skill
  8. A yellow highlighter
  9. Some paper to draw on
  10. And that's it!

Step 2: The First and Second Layers.

This was my biggest issue, I couldn't get a clear photo of the clear wrap.

What I have done is cut out a piece of paper to show you the size you need to cut the clear wrap.

I also included a photo of the rap to show you how hard it was to photograph it, to end it I put a high contrast so you can see what the wrap will look like exactly when you cut it.

Anyway, cut a piece of wrap, the size in relation to your torch and secure it using a rubber band.

Now take the blue SHARPIE and colour it in over the lens of the torch, you can turn it on and off periodically to check for gaps.

It is here I would like to note that if the torch is high-ish powered the lens might get too hot and melt through the clear wrap, if this happens, choose a dimmer torch.

Once you have your first layer coloured blue you can repeat this step, you need a total of two blue layers.

Step 3: The Last Layer!

Now it is time for the last layer to go on.

You need to cut the same sort of square of clear wrap as before and apply it to the torch in the same manner.

The only difference is that this time you will colour it in PURPLE.

After you finish it off you can turn it on and enjoy your very ow Black light!
