Introduction: Easy 4-Ingredient Peanut Butter Blossom Cookies

To be festive I have decided to share my favorite recipe for peanut butter cookies. It is an easy recipe with minimal ingredients that comes out DE-LI-CIOUS! This recipe was taken from an old cookbook I have by Paula Deen called Paula Deen's my first cookbook. One can also view this recipe using the following link:

Step 1: Ingredients

1 egg

1 C. Sugar ; 1/4 C. Sugar for coating cookies

1 C. Creamy Peanut Butter (I used Jiff)

1 bag of Hershey's milk chocolate kisses

Step 2: Mix Ingredients

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Put egg, peanut butter, and sugar into a large bowl. Mix ingredients with an electric mixer on medium speed (scraping down sides throughout and continue mixing) for about two minutes or until ingredients are fully mixed.

Step 3: Form Dough and Chill

Use a rubber spatula to further mix the dough. Massage the dough with the spatula until you can form a ball. Chilling is not required for these cookies; however, I covered mine with saran wrap and chilled the dough in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.

Step 4: Form Cookies

Take dough out of fridge. Add about 1/4 Cup of sugar to a small bowl. This will be used to coat the dough balls before placing them on the cookie sheet. Cover a cookie sheet with parchment paper. Form dough balls, about 1 Tablespoon each, and roll each in the granulated sugar until coated before placing onto cookie sheet. Placement is not super important when baking these cookies because they do not spread very much. Place cookies in preheated oven and bake for 10 minutes.

Step 5: The Fun Part

When cookies are done take them out of the oven. The cookies will not seem done and not too flat but that is okay, that is what you want. Because of the cookies still being in ball form, pressing the Hershey Kiss in the center causes the cookie to spread and form beautiful cracks around the edges. Press each cookie with a hershey kiss just enough to stick to the center. *You can get creative with this and use other candies besides Hershey's Kisses such as Dark Hershey's Kisses, Mini Reeses' Cups, Rolos, etc.* Let the cookies sit on the hot cookie sheet for another 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. Enjoy with some milk :)
