Easy Baked Brie Pumpkin

Introduction: Easy Baked Brie Pumpkin

Anyone can make this adorable fall treat and it takes less than one hour. The sweet, autumn spiced pumpkin butter pairs wonderfully with the delicious, gooey brie. Bring this to a Halloween party and it is sure to disappear in minutes! It's easy to assemble, and all of the ingredients can be found at your local grocery store.

Step 1: Ingredients

-Frozen puff pastry sheets

-Small wheel of brie

-Pumpkin butter

-Cheese straws

-Red and yellow food coloring

-Egg

-Fresh sage leaves

-Butcher or bakery twine

Preheat oven to 375º F.

Step 2: Prepare the Pastry Sheet

Allow one puff pastry sheet to thaw. Place a sheet of parchment on a baking sheet. Cut 5 strands of baking twine about 12 inches long and lay them in a web on baking sheet. Carefully unroll the puff pastry and center it on the twine.

Step 3: Add Pumpkin Butter

Place brie in the center of the pastry sheet and scoop 1/4 cup of pumpkin butter onto cheese.

Step 4: Bundle Your Brie!

Gather the corners of the puff pastry in the middle and gently pinch edges to seal. Tie opposite ends of twine in the center. Flip the whole thing over so the neat side is on top.

Step 5: Apply Egg Wash

Separate egg and reserve the white. Lightly whisk in 3 drops yellow food coloring and 1 drop of red food coloring. Brush a thin layer onto the surface of the puff pastry.

Step 6: Bake Your Brie

Bake for 20 minutes at 375º F or until golden brown.

Step 7: Finish and Serve

Remove from oven and let cool a couple minutes. Cut and remove strings. Cut a small slit in the top center and insert cheese straw "stem" and sprig of sage. Transfer to platter and serve with crackers or crusty bread.

Thanks! I tried this off of a hunch that I had about how puff pastry behaves and it worked even better than either myself or my wife had expected it to on the first try!
