Introduction: Easy Cinnamony Crumble Topping
I enjoy making the occasional home made pie, but I have never felt like mastering the flaky, buttery, seems-very-time-intensive two part crust. So, I use a press-in crust instead, and when I "top" my pie I like to use an easy crumble topping.
This topping is my take on a crumble topping, based on the recipe found here.

Step 1: Ingredients
You will need:
> 3/4 cup flour
> 1/3 cup packed brown sugar
> 3 tablespoon granulated sugar
> a pinch of salt (~ 1/8 teaspoon)
> 1 teaspoon cinnamon
> 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
> 6 tablespoon cold unsalted butter, cut into pieces
The original recipe says this can be done in a bowl, with your hands. If you have a food processor, though, that works beautifully.

Step 2: Add Your Ingredients and Mix
Add all your ingredients to a large bowl if mixing by hand, or your food processor if using.
If mixing by hand: work together ingredients until large moist chunks form.
If using food processor: pulse until "combined".
Note that if you are using your food processor, the first few pulses will likely be messy :P
Store covered in the fridge until you are ready to use the topping.
And, sorry guys, I was busy working on other parts of the pie I was making I forgot to get a picture of the crumble all mixed. It sort of looked like large bits of crushed graham crackers :) You see it in action here though!
