Easy Decorative Glass Candle Shade

Today we are going to make a very interesting and easy project..which can be easily recreated and modified with just only your imagination...the material used in this build are can be easily found and the build process doesn't take much longer than few hours...

So without wasting any more time... lets us start the build...

Step 1: Getting the Needed Materials...

For this build... we only need some basic items...

A glass tube of which both ends are open( will be better if the glass is frosted textured)...
Some modeling clay of Mouldit
Colors
Glue(If needed)
Paintbrush(size 2 brush will be enough)
A tealight Candle for placing in the tube.

Step 2: Preparing the Design

Firstly sketch the rough outline of your design and then make the drawing final on a piece of paper...

These will be the templates for the designing stage...

Here I used my own design...You can always change the design as your preference.

Step 3: Making the Decorative Roses

Using some modeling clay or some mouldit...I made some small roses ... The process is very simple...either use my picture reference or search online for a more detailed video of making roses...

I just used a small stick and then added some additional pieces on them...layer after layer...

The process of making roses are very simple...just take your time and make several pieces...

Step 4: Making Some Extra Decorative Pieces

After making the roses, start making some additional pieces for the decorative purposes.. like leaves, small balls, etc..

The main goal is to make the piece look nice and gorgeous...

As previously said, You can always change the design or the elements put in this project... just make whatever you like to see on your project...

Now let the pieces dry and harden for as much time it takes...

Step 5: Setting All the Pieces...

After all the pieces are made and they became harden... its time to attach the small detailed pieces fixed on the glass...

In this step, you either can stick all the pieces directly on the glass or make an outer layer of decoration and just leave it as it is...

I personally decided to fix the pieces on the glass...for that purpose, I just simply used the same epoxy clay compound used for the roses and the leaves to join the pieces together... And it turned out to be very helpful as the clay does also sticks to the glass up to a certain point..which made the finalizing process a lot easier...

You can use epoxy glue or any other glue to stick those pieces on the glass if your clay isn't sticking on the glass...also at this stage you may also add extra decorative items if you want...

After the process is done again leave the piece dry and set for several hours before starting painting...

Step 6: Add Decorative Designs

Now when the clay pieces are hardened once again... take the templates you made earlier and place inside ...and trace them with a marker, a glass marker, or just straight paint with a paintbrush...

Step 7: Colouring Time...

For the coloring step, you can use almost any color you have ...the acrylic color is the best for this job, as acrylic color is easy to apply to these types of projects...

Use whatever color you want for your piece...I personally used red color for the roses..and green for the leaves.... also the copper color for the pieces placed on top...and lastly used the copper paint a little bit on the roses and the leaves to make them look like metal...

Step 8: Finishing the Project...

After the colouring process is done... now it's the time to finish the project with some decorative lines and patterns on the glass ... for that purpose, we will just use the templates we made earlier...

Also, a clear coat of lacquer will be a good option for making the paint more secure...

Step 9: Final Look...

Now we have a beautiful and gorgeous looking candle shade which you can use wherever you wanna decorate a certain place with candles... the perfect size of candles for this project will be the tea light candles... But you can also alter that ...
