Introduction: Easy Pajama Pants

This is an easy step by step instruction for making comfortable pajama pants from any fabric you like.

Step 1: Choose Your Fabric

Once you've chosen your fabric, lay it out on a flat surface.

Step 2: Pin Your Pattern

Lay your pattern on top of your fabric and pin them together.

Step 3: Cut Out Your Pattern

Carefully cut along the pattern piece paying attention to the notches.

Step 4: More Pinning

Pin right sides together matching notches.

Step 5: Sew Seams Together

Carefully sew the seams together along the edges and remove pins as you go.

Step 6: Finish Seams

Trim and finish seams with a zig-zag stitch.

Step 7: Press Hem

With a steam iron, press up a quarter of an inch under and then an additional 3/4 inch under for pant leg hem. 

Step 8: Sew Hem

With a straight stitch, sew the hem.

Step 9: Elastic Casing

With iron, press under 1/4 of an inch and an additional 3/4 of an inch to make casing for elastic on waistline. Make sure to leave one inch open on the back seam in order to feed the elastic through.

Step 10: Add Elastic

Thread the elastic through the casing with a safety pin.

Step 11: Secure Elastic

With a zig-zag stitch, secure elastic together. Then finish seam on waistline. 

Step 12: Admire Work

Admire your work and wear finished product. Or in my case, put on daughter.
