Introduction: Easy Paper Pop-it!

This is an easy pop-it made out of paper, and it is just as fun to fidget with! It is very simple to fold and doesn’t require many materials.

Supplies

We will only be cutting the piece of paper into a square with the scissors and start the project, so it is fine if you already have a square sheet of paper or origami paper that you will use.

  • Sheet of Paper
  • Scissors

Step 1: Setting Up the Paper

For this project, you will need a square paper. If you already have one, you can skip this step.

To make the rectangle paper a square, fold the top corner (any corner can be used) to the bottom as far as you can to make a triangle shape.

Then cut off the excess. From here you will not need the scissors again.

Step 2: Making the Pop-it

Take the square and start on the color side facing down if you are using origami/square paper.

Fold the square paper in half. Then fold it in half again.

Unfold the paper and make another fold diagonally. Then fold in half.

Unfold the paper, and you should have eight lines going to the center. Then fold from each corner to the middle, following the lines.

Step 3: Making the Pop-it (Cont.)

Unfold, and you should see creases from the last fold made in Step 2. Fold from the corners to these creases.

Fold again on the creases from the last fold made in Step 2, so that the paper becomes a smaller square.

Flip the paper over and fold all corners to the middle, like we did in the last fold made in Step 2.

Flip the paper over and crease some of the visible folds on that side a bit more. Then the pop-it should be ready to use.

Step 4: Done!

Congratulations on making your paper pop-it! You can decorate it or crease the folds a bit more until you like it. Thank you for following along!
