Easy Safety Glasses Storage

Intro: Easy Safety Glasses Storage

I needed a simple and easy way to keep my safety glasses organized, this is it.

STEP 1: All You Need Is a Wire Coat Hanger and 10 Minutes

I used a basic wire coat hanger

STEP 2: Cut the Top Off the Hanger

I left about 3 inches of wire past the bottom bend on each side.

STEP 3: Straighten the Slight Kink

I straightened the slight kink in the wire and bent the remaining portion to form an 90 degree angle on both sides. The result is something that looks like a very skinny towel bar.

STEP 4: Mark 1.5" From the Bend

I gave myself 1.5" of reveal.

STEP 5: Mark the Shelf and Drill

I held the wire against the shelf for a rough measurement, then determined that the wire was 3/32".

Grab a drill and poke two holes into the face of the shelf deep enough for the remaining wire.

STEP 6: Finished

Safety glasses are light, so I'm not worried about it collapsing.

It took me more time to write this than it did to do the project!

I spent way too long figuring out if this was missing a step that explains why the glasses stay in place on a vertical rail.
Perhaps you can rotate your images next time.
hey thanks for the feedback. I have edited the pictures several times, but the rotation does not hold when I do.
I need to do something like this! I have three pairs of glasses and can never find any of them. Smart solution :)
Thanks, let me know if you improve on the idea
