Introduction: Easy Strawberry Cake Topper

About: I'm a harpist who enjoys DIYing. :)

Throwing a strawberry party? Make this quick & easy cake topper.

I made this using an older Cricut model (expression), but you could also hand cut the strawberries out. The trickiest part of this project was probably the Cricut!

Supplies

  • red paper
  • green paper
  • Cricut (you can get a used one pretty cheap!) & cartridges/accessories (Simply Charmed for the Strawberry, Birthday Cake for the numbers) or scissors - a fancy cutting machine is not required, but I had access to one so used it. :)
  • liquid glue
  • glue stick
  • kabob stick
  • wire cutters
  • washi tape (optional)

Step 1: Cut!

Now cut out your strawberry & cap shapes with a Cricut, Sizzix, punch, or by hand.

If you're using this Cricut cartridge, here are a few tips:

  • I believe these were cut out at 1.5"
  • Use the "shadow" option for the red, & skip the layer with the face

If you're cutting the strawberry out by hand, you can watch this video to see one way to do it.

Step 2: Glue

Using your glue stick, glue the cap onto the strawberry.

Step 3: Numbers

If you're adding numbers, cut them out & glue them on with a glue stick.

Alternatively, you could use number stickers, stamps, or hand write them with a marker or paint.

Step 4: Add Sticks

Cut your kabob stick in two.

Making sure that the uncut side is the part that will go into the cake (to hopefully avoid splinters in the cake!), glue each stick onto the back of the strawberry.

Optional: add a cute piece of washi tape over each kabob stick.

Step 5: Celebrate

Once the glue has dried, stick your cake topper(s) in your cake & party!
