Introduction: Easy Wreath From Old Books in 5 Steps

About: I love Construction Engineering, and have a passion for art and 3-D designing things. I also play Drums and Bass Guitar.

This instructables will teach you how to make a easy wreath from old books to add a rustic look to any room. It could be made from any old book lying around, or a favorite book that holds a special place in your heart.

Supplies

Scissors

Old books

Cardboard [Large Piece.]

Hot glue gun

X-acto knife

Step 1: Cardboard Frame

I took a large box we had lying around, and cut a shape somewhat resembling a circle, with a hole in the somewhat middle. I then got one of those big steel bowls, and traced it, then cut it with scissors, resulting in a much nicer circle.

Step 2: Cutting the Book

Next I took the X-acto knife and cut full pages out. This used about the entire book.

Step 3: Design

Next, take a page that you have cut out, and roll it up into a conical shape, gluing it at the end to make it hold its shape. Then put a line of hot glue on it and stick it down on the cardboard frame, leaving about 3/4 hanging over. Then do that all the way around. If some get out of place, that's okay, you can cover it up with a design later.

Step 4: Extra Design

Once you have gone all the way around with the long cones, there should still be some room in the middle to add more. I took a page, cut roughly a quarter of it off, then folded the corners and glued them, then made more and attached them to the frame. You can make any design you want or have in mind, I just wanted to share some ideas.

Step 5: Finished

This is what mine looked like once it was finished, and I hope yours went well, this would be a great wreath to have in a kitchen or hanging over a fireplace, I hope you enjoyed making this.
