Introduction: Easy N Elegant Painted Toast Glasses

Wedding preparation is certainly a difficult activity for the bride and groom, but the outcome could absolutely be worth it.

A wedding toasting glass is, indeed, a symbolic souvenir! When your ceremony is finished, you can add them to your glassware collections or display them alone in whatever part of your home that is secure from being broken. You will have a extended-lasting keepsake, aside from the pictures, and videos taken from your wedding. You can also use them in the course of any unique occasion, such as an anniversary, which you are going to celebrate.

This method of blank etching in frosted paint is very simple and cost efficient.

This can be used to customize glasses which also make excellent personalized christmas gifts.

Step 1: MATERIALS

Glasses to be decorated (wine glasses, flutes, or any intended)

Glass paint(i used white color of the brand Waco)

3D paint liner(I used silver color , brand-Marabu),

a piece of sponge,

a paintbrush

scissors

sticky tape

a sheet of paper

Step 2:

Before proceeding thoroughly clean the glasses with rubbing alcohol to remove any grease or stains .

Cut out a small heart from he sheet of paper

Apply tiny pieces of sticky tape on both edges.

Stick this heart in around the center of the glass

Step 3:

Take a blob of white glass paint on a pallet.

Smudge the paint with the piece of sponge.

Firmly hold the glass with one hand and with the other make brisk smudges of this sponge all around the heart.

Repeating the smudging gives a denser look and sparking will taper it.

With the blunt end of the paint brush etch int he fresh paint the design you have planned. I made a single line of swirls going diagonal thru the heart.

In a similar fashion you can paint the bases of the glasses.

Etch in the paint any names or quotes you want. I was making this for the bridal couple to I wrote in BRIDE and GROOM.

Step 4: 3D Liner

Carefully peel out the heart shape from the glass.

With the 3D liner make a continuation of the swirly design thru the heart.

Make any other extra patterns you like on the sides. I made a small flower and a few more swirly around the heart to highlight it.

AT THIS STAGE IF YOU DO NOT LIKE THE DESIGN OR WANT TO REMOVE AN ELEMENT YOU CAN STILL CORRECT IT BY WASHING AWAY THE PAINT WITH A WET SPONGE.

so you can actually make the design you have in mind and check out if it matches your expectations.

Step 5: Curing the Glasses.

Allow the painted glasses to dry for at least 4 hours.

After drying you need to cure the glasses. i.e. bake them at 150C for 30 minutes( or as per the instructions on the paint jar).

This will make the design permanent.

Step 6: Decorate the Stems

With ribbons decorate the stems of the glass.

I wrapped around the stem a pink and a grey satin ribbon for the bride and groom respectively. Add embellishments like bows or flowers or even pearls or crystals to the base of the glasses by a hot glue gun.

Later these decorations can be removed and the glasses remain as a souvenir .

Though I have heard people washing them in dishwashers, I personally would recommend hand washing the glasses.

Cheers!
