Introduction: Easy Way to Keep Ear Bud Cords From Tangling

My ear bud cords get tangled in my purse & are annoying.  I came up with an easy way to keep them tidy.  All you need is:

A small card that's stiff like a credit card
A hole punch (I prefer a small hole, but if you only have a large one, it'll still work.)
Scissors

BTW, I know that my pictures aren't great, but I think they're good enough to still give you a good idea of what I'm talking about in each step.  Oh, and this is my first 'ible.

Step 1: Find a Good Card

I've used a rewards card that I don't use any more.  If you don't have one, do you have an expired credit card or used-up gift card?  Just chop off a piece of that.

Step 2: Punch Hole(s)

You could do this with only one hole, but I prefer one hole for the plug & one hole for the ear buds.  (If you don't have a hole punch, you could still make this work if you have a rewards card like mine that comes with one hole already in it.)  I also prefer to have the two holes not very close to each other.

Step 3: Cut to the Hole

You just want to make one cut from the outside to each of the holes.  (My first try, I made an OPENING, rather than ONE cut, going to each hole, but the cords didn't stay put very well that way.)

Step 4: Wrap the Cord Around the Card

Bend the card a little to slip the cord in with the plug nearby.  If you wrap it right, you can also make it so the plug isn't flapping all over the place.

Then just wrap the cord around the card & tuck the cords (near the ear buds) into the other hole.

There!  Now your cords won't get all tangled!  An easy & free way to keep from getting frustrated.
