Introduction: Easy,Cheap,and Chic Pillow
Last summer I got hooked on the HGTV show design star, and one of the designers took a sharpie to some pillows and wrote on it.It looked fantastic! I set out to imitate it ASAP.You need little to no creativity for this one, folks.
Step 1: Supplies
*Plain white Pillow.I got a cheap-o pillow from Ikea for maybe $4. You could get the full sized bed ones that are on sale for $5 every other week at target.Do what you want.
- Sharpies.I had a colored multi-pack,which is fun,but just black looks nice too
*Paper to practice on
Step 2: Prepping the Pillow
Cut the tag off.Wheeee! That was a fun step, yes?
Step 3: Picking the Design
I went pretty general, and just wrote "La,la,la,la....."(You get the picture,me thinks) on the other side I went with some star bursts, too. Doodle, come up with something you like that matches your decor theme.
Step 4: Actually Writing on the Pillow
I know. This is the scary part. After the first letter, though, you'll be fine.Don't worry if it goes crooked,it's all part of the charm. You may have to hold it down with your knee or arm. Just keep writing that design till you get it done.Write on one side, doodle on the other.Go nuts!
Step 5: The End!
Enjoy your cheap, fun,DIY pillow, and reward yourself with a nap!
This is my first instructable,so please rate, blah blah blah, you've heard it before. Thanks much!
