Introduction: Edible Slime (Made With Gummy Bears!)

About: Hi! I'm Anna and I love being creative- in lots of aspects! I absolutely love making and decorating cakes. I have nine younger siblings, which is awesome, especially when it comes to making cakes, because ther…

My sister's birthday was a few weeks ago now and she is really into slime- but she also really love candy (who doesn't?). I was first going to make her the normal glue/borax slime, but that really isn't very excited! So I put together this yummy candy slime!

Step 1: What You Need

For ingredient you need:

  • Gummy Bears
  • Water
  • Corn Starch
  • Confectioners Sugar

Then, for utensils, you need:

  • A large pot
  • A bowl to melt the gummy bears in (or a double boiler)
  • A clean surface

Step 2: Gummy Bears

Take your pot and fill about half way with water. Put on your stove on high and bring to a boil.

As soon as the water is boiling, take your bowl (or double boiler) and fill it with 20 or so gummy bears. This will make about half a cup of slime. Set the bowl in the pot of boiling water (but make sure no water gets into the bowl!) and leave for three minutes. The bears should be melting quite nice and won't really have their 'bear' form anymore.

Take out the bowl, and stir. As you can see from the picture above, they were really well melted after three minutes. If yours aren't like that, then allow them to melt for a few more minutes.

Step 3: Knead

Sprinkle 1 tablespoon of Corn Starch and another tablespoon of Confectioners Sugar on your surface. Once the bears are melted, use a spatula and scrape the melted, stickiness out onto the powdered surface. Then, sprinkling a bit more powder on the melted gummy bears, knead them until it's not sticky anymore.

Step 4: Have Fun!

Have fun playing with the slime! I love this texture. It's nice and soft, while gooey! It makes the perfect slime and it's really yummy and stringy!

When your done playing with it, stick it in a zip lock bag. It'll stay the right texture for an hour or so before it begins to harder, but it never completely hardens, like this slime. To make back the right texture, just follow steps 2 and 3 again.

Enjoy!
