El Cheapo Window Mini Garden

One quart ice cream containers are a ready to go planter for a window garden. 

Step 1: Not Much to It

The top works as a water catcher.  The carton is filled with potting soil.

Step 2: Put in Sprouted Peat Pots

The Garden Cress has sprouted in the Peat Pots, it's time to put them in the container. Punch some drain holes in the sides of the container. Water every day. In about two weeks there will be enough foilage to enjoy  water cress without paying $2.99 a bunch at the grocery store.
