Introduction: FREE Emergency Dog Halter
I came up with this idea one day when I was taking my dog out for a walk and found out that she had chewed off her halter. What I did was made a temporary halter using just the leash. You can make this out of any length leash. Here are the pictures showing how to make it.
Step 1: Making the Leash Halter
First find the dog your going to walk.
Step 2: Step 2
Bring the leash around your pets neck and bring the end with the clip over the rest of the leash.
Step 3: Step 3
Wrap the clip end around under your pet, but make sure you leave some slack around your pet's neck.
Step 4: Step 4
Bring the clip up and secure.
Step 5: Now for That Walk
Now you have the emergency dog halter made out of a leash.
I hope this helps someone. If you have any questions or comments I would love to hear them.

That's not a halter, it's a harness

I love this!! Thanks!!! My cat has been DESPERATE to go outside lately, but I have a sneaking suspicion that once he’s had a taste of the great outdoors, he’ll ditch the idea altogether, so instead of buying a cat harness that’ll get used once or twice, I’m using this on him!! Perfect!

not a good idea, should be put over the neck not under it. as someone else showed at the bottom, they are using it to choke the dog if they dont walk directly where they want them. who chokes a dog to punish them for walking a little ahead or behind them?

This is cool, I did it and will train my puppy with this so he isn't freaked out. I used a metal leash on his papa and he did whine once when I attached it

I had to look up the technical name for the type clip used on leashes. It's called a "bolt snap." Just in case anyone is as amused by hardware nomenclature as I am...

Looks like mine too. Miniature fox terrier, or a cross with one.

this looks very nice but would probably be better for your dog if you made your initial loop over the neck instead of under it. this would reduce the chance of choking your pet. just a thought....
love the idea will do same for my dog with option i suggested.

Very nice! I like the way it's permanently adjustable.
PS: Very cute woofles! Jack Russels are awesome dogs.
