Introduction: Essential Oil Diffuser Bracelet
Hey guys! For the Oil Contest going on I thought I'd share a little project that I've been doing for a while now. You can use either lava or wood beads to make these bracelets (or necklaces if you'e feeling creative!) By putting a few drops of you favorite essential oil in the beads, you can get the experience of carrying around an oil diffuser all day. If you like this project I'd really appreciate if you'd vote for me for the Oil Contest! Now let's get on with the bracelet :)
Step 1: Getting Your Beads
I personally like using lava beads because they absorb the oil really well, and do a great job of diffusing it throughout the day because of its porous nature. You could probably just as easily use wood if you'd like, but I've never tried it. If you decide to do this comment down below and tell me how it worked out! The first picture is a picture of the lava beads. I picked up the white ones at Michaels for 4 dollars, as well as some decorative ones to go with it for 3. The beads on the right are some wood ones that I considered trying out, but decided against it. I'm sure it would work just the same!
Step 2: Getting Your Supplies
You really only need three things: beads, elastic, and scissors. Since this is a pretty loose DIY that can be manipulated into other things that you want. For example, If you wanted to use a chain instead of elastic that would work too, or as stated before you could use a long string, ribbon, or chain to make a necklace instead.
Step 3: Stringing Your Beads and Putting in You Oil
I didn't include an image for stringing the beads because I pretty much assumed it was self explanatory. If you aren't familiar with bracelet making, just tie a knot at the end of your elastic and string your beads on until you elastic is filled. I would recommend tying the ends together with a square knot. To put in the oil into the beads, remember that a little goes a long way! You only need a couple of drops to get the effect you want. I've put in too much before and got a major headache the rest of the day.
Step 4: Show Off Your Jewelry!
Here's the bracelets I made. Honestly I don't like to two stacked together, but still fun enough to share. I'd love to see what you guys can create! Consider getting creative and swapping the lava beads for either wooden beads, or even paper beads if you're feeling that. Thanks so much for reading, and again I would appreciate you voting for me in the Oil Competition. Hope you enjoy! :)
