Introduction: Exposing Clover to Beta,Gamma and X-ray Radiation Compared to High Voltage.
Here I am going to expose clover plants to Beta, Gamma and eventually X-rays which some are high energy while other are low energy to see if they will grow as seeds. Lead strips 1.0 mm thick when exposed to a potent gamma source converts 99% of the gamma into x-rays which can be tested on the seeds.
I have already tested high voltage with 20,000 volts 20-30 mA on clovers and voltages of 400 volts per meter squared killed the clover very quickly. So I was curious about how weak radiation would work on plant seeds (Clover) so I got all the necessary equipment.
Step 1: Radiation Samples and Materials Plus Theory.
Hello, I am testing the results of Gamma and beta radiation from Uranium beads and Thorium 4% with Tungsten rods.
The Pic with the can and the plastic cup is Potassium chloride 1% radioactive K 40 with 15 g KCl.
Thorium rods are most likely Thorium-232 at 4% and Uranium in glass beads and the Autunite is 99% Uranium-238. However the crystals of Calcium (Uranium dioxide) Phosphate 10-12 water salt is more likely to emit gamma and beta particles since it is 48% Uranium by mass than the Uranium beads.

A GOOD RADIATION METER IS REQUIRED TO MEASURE OUT THE BACKGROUND RADIATION LEVELS (GAMMA AND BETA). ALSO TRYING TO EXTRACT URANIUM 238 FROM AUTUNITE IS ILLEGAL AND DANGEROUS (EXTREMELY)!!
Here from WIki is Info on safety on Thorium Mantels being tested 1909 on clover and No harm seems to be done even with the Intense Radiation of Alpha and weak gamma.
Here is some data on others that exposed Plants to different types of Radiation. Expect he uses Uranium rock, Thorium Lanterns, etc.

Here some info on Potassium 40 in salt at 1% of KCl. Why am I saying this? Well, low levels of Radiation on organisms may have a beneficial effect and High dosages may cause cell death.
I am also showing that IR and Electromagnetic waves like Radiation can damage DNA, damage chromosomes and kill cells in plants.
At One time I tested 12,000 volts AC 35 mA and 8,000 volts 20 mA AC and created spark gaps. The EMF at 400 volts per M2 for 1 hour in a day or more stunned and prevented seeds from growing.
However, exposing clover seeds to approx 3333 volts or 444 volts per meter squared was the limit for healthy exposure to EMF. Note that all plants will respond differently to EMF and Ionizing Radiation.
Here is a short Video on 25 kV power around a plant for a few minutes so any form of Radiation (Ionizing or Non-ionizing) has the potential to harm or Kill Plants.
Step 2: Radation Protocol.
For the gamma sources, you will need Lead strips that can go across a can (Aluminum) with two pieces of thorium rods. Mine was 2.5 cm long and a diameter of 0.4 cm. I did not open the package. Bricks about 6-8 (Not shown) after the lead (Added inside the can be blocked a large percentage of this weak gamma rays) were added.
Seeds (Clover approx 100 g) were added to a container and placed into the Apparatus that shields Radiation from humans, etc. The total exposure is 5 days for clover for Thorium 4% Rods. The clover seeds were placed 1 cm away from the source.
Beta Radiation Sources (Uranium beads) and American 241 smoke detector). Coming soon when they come from e-bay.
Also, a source of Uranium called Uranium oxide Phosphate decahydrate crystals or Autunite crystals 2.6 g (48% Uranium) that emits beta and gamma will also be tested on clover. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT NOT TO CRUSH AUTUNITE SINCE IT POWDER CAN BE INHALED INCREASING THE RISK OF CANCER OF THE LUNG (RADIATION FROM URANIUM.).
Step 3: Theory on Growth and Results. (Including Discussions).
Several different types of Radioactive sources including X rays, beta, and gamma have been exposed to clover seeds and they all grow (Indicating an immunity and absorption of rads from the radioactive material.).
1% K-40 from 15 g Potassium chloride (gamma): 20 CPM at 0.16uSv an Hr Normal growth.
Lead shielding and plastic with thorium: 40 CPM and 0.2 uSv an Hr. Plastic thorium without lead: 90 CPM and 0.5 uSv an Hr. Normal growth. (Equiv exposure CPM and uS per Hr.)
Americium 241-242 Partial shield: 70 CPM and 0.4 uSv an Hr (Equiv). Normal growth.
180 Uranium beads with clover: 300 CPM at 1.7 uSv an Hr (Equiv)
180 Uranium beads + thorium (2) in bag: 400 CPM at 2.33 uSv an Hr. (Gamma and beta). Growth was Normal.
As a final Note: All forms of Radiation failed to kill the clover due to two reasons. 1. The rapid growth of the clover it can grow and mature in 24 hrs compared to some seeds that take a month and the type and concentration of Radiation that they were exposed to.
Eventually, in Jan I will get my Ore and combine with rods and Uranium beads to get close to 1500 CPM, etc on clovers to observe if any growth is effected or not.
Yes to get better results I could use a stronger source of gamma (Cobalt 58 or Cobalt 60) or Thallium 204 however they can cost on Prolab Scientific 200 dollars each and this is without 200-400 dollars needed for the Lead bricks for the Experiment. Too expensive for a clover experiment! increase the CPM to 400-500 CPM with Uranium beads, Thorium and Americium 241 and 242 samples combined to see if a higher gamma, beta, and alpha can impair plant growth.
Compared to 400 volts per Meter squared and over with clover seeds that killed them within two days or so Gamma, etc had stunting effect at these concentrations (Rads and CPM) of each Radioactive material.
Coming back to the 25 kV or 20 kV supply which is Non Ionizing Rads which the energy from Electromagnetic is converted into energy inside the plant (Clover seeds) and the charge due to reaction with organic material induces DNA damage, chromosome damage, etc is sort of similar to high exposure to Ionizing Rads they are also different in their own way.
Eventually with x-rays made by lead and a potent gamma source will be tested on the clover to see what will happen but I have to wait until Jan 01 for that.
Step 4: Final Discussion.
There are some issues with the GMC-300E plus efficiency to pick up the amount of CPM and uSv an Hr. If you repeat this with a more expensive model or a different model you will get different results depending on the GC tube.
Compared to a check source of Uranium beads it read readings 3 times higher with a different more expensive GC! This is one of the flaws I must point out as a conclusion and discussion.
Compared to Electromagnetic fields from High voltage the radiation was too weak to function properly and kill the seeds of clover. They are too weak in Ionizing and the rapid growth rate of the plant is the reason why this type of radiation did not work.
X-rays once the Lead 1.0 mm strips come will be also tested on clover too.
Step 5: Exposure to Gamma Beta and X Rays.
Now that I have some results on stunting plants with low levels of rads I am exposing plants to 1200 CPM at 7.0 uSv an Hr for 5 days with control. Expect I will compare in two weeks heavy Rad exposure with Normal growth to see what happens.
When we (my family) removed wild tulips that were under a Powerline 110,000 volts AC 60-120 mA the mutations in the plant slowly reverted However it did take a year or so. An artificial mutation.
Can a high dose of Rads in clover lead to a reversal effect?
Other conclusions although they are just that prove that the growth without overwatering slightly and rads did have an effect on the clover. When the water was reduced in half for weeks the plants of clover (Second time) grew faster with Rad 400 CPM at 2.33 uSv an Hr exposure.
For the clover, it may be that the combo of Rad and water (even in 4 days Penicillium did not grow on the clover!!!) which if it was seriously overwatered it would of (Personal experience). I am not 100% certain but I think that it a Combo effect of Rads and higher water.
The lower water and high level of Rads probably increased growth but i cannot be 100% certain.
Also, the board for the clover although it looks slated it was straight. The control for the Rad with more water grew faster and the Rad exposure to clover was slowed down (However I guess it could have been overwatering plus heavy rads). Since there are thousands of seeds in each it would be impossible to accurately check without really expensive equipment. I assume the rad and water did have an effect, however, I am not sure what ratio it was (5% Rad, 95% water, 10% Rad, 90% water), etc.
The same with the reduction of water and excessive growth Probably they did grow with some level due to the radiation and grow light but I am not sure (100%).
On the other hand, the seeds were being exposed to different rad rates and were given 5 days darkness and 5 days light same with the clover that grew faster. The light periods and the Rad exposure may also have an effect. I think that it could be a small to medium effect on the clover with respect to Rads but light exposure with control may be tested again.

I just thought of something. The dose of rads per kg or so. The weight of 10 seeds was 0.1 grams. So exposure (even beta and gamma) is dependent on Rads per Hr per grams (Kg). It was small exposure just enough to stun for 5 days but they may have recovered if grown for three weeks, etc with the same water and soil mass. Small for us but quite huge for the plant seeds.

Do remeber that my clover will probably not be the same as yours (99% chance of being different. Different types may die or be stunted at different levels of CPM and uSv an Hr.

Oh I forgot to say this but low levels of rads (beta, gamma, etc) compared to control stunted the clover!!! It may be something else but it could be the radation effect too.

Yes, I would too, but as I said some of the really expensive equipment on Prolab like cobalt 57, cobalt 60 or thallium 204 are like 200 dollars CAN each. This does not include bricks of lead or a gamma-x-ray spectrometer need to determine what percentage of the gamma absorbed through the lead and was x-ray or and gamma. My GC would not be able to compare this. A 10,000 US machine the spectrometer would be required. Sigh it would be cool but I cannot afford it.
