Introduction: Eyeball Key-chain

The perfect key-chain to be sure that no one will take your keys! It can also be used as a Halloween accessory to add a little zombie touch to your costume.

Step 1: Materials

To make the eyeball key-chain, you need:

0. A basic crochet knowledge (beginner can make it)

1. White, black, red and blue yarn

2. Scissors

3. A yarn needle

4. A crochet hook which size is a little smaller than the one indicated on the wool

(I used a 2.0 mm hook)

5. A key-chain

6. A little stuffing

Step 2: Notes

I use the US crochet notations.

Abbreviations:

sl. st.: slip stitch

sc.: single crochet

dec.: decrease (insert the hook in the stitch and pull a loop, then insert the hook in the next stitch and pull another loop, and finally, yarn over and pull through the three loops)

Step 3: Pupil

Take the black yarn and make a magic ring (roll the yarn three times around your finger)

Round 1: Insert the hook inside the magic ring and pull a loop, yarn over, pull a loop. Then do 6 sc. in the ring.

Pull on the end of the yarn to close the ring. Sl. st. in the first sc. of the round. Cut the yarn and pull it through the last loop.

The pupil is done.

Step 4: Iris

Knot the blue yarn to the end of the black yarn.

Round 2: Insert the hook under the last stitch. Pull a loop of blue yarn, yarn over and pull through.

2 sc. in each sc. of the first round (12 stitches).

Sl. st. in the first sc. of the round. Cut the yarn and pull it through the last loop.

The iris is done.

Step 5: Eyeball

Knot the white yarn to the end of the blue yarn.

Round 3: Insert the hook under the last stitch. Pull a loop of white yarn, yarn over and pull through.

* 1 sc. in next stitch, then 2 sc. in the following stitch *, repeat * - * until the end of the round (18 stitches).

Do not close the round with a sl. st.

Round 4 - 7: Put a small piece of yarn inside your first stitch to mark the beginning of the round.

1 sc. in each stitch of the previous round (18 stiches). Do not close the round.

Round 8: * 1 sc. in next stitch, the 1 dec. *, repeat * - * until the end of the round (12 stitches).

Stuff the eyeball.

Round 9: dec. all the way around (6 stitches).

Sl. st in the next stitch, then cut the yarn leaving a long tail. Pull the yarn through the last loop. Use the needle to weave the yarn through the last round and pull to close it. Tie the yarn and pull it through the middle of the pupil. Embroider the white sparkle, tie the yarn, pull it through the eyeball and cut it.

The eyeball is done.

Step 6: Optic Nerve and Blood Vessels

Take the red yarn.

Chain 14, then chain one through the key-chain.

Sl. st. in each stitch of the chain. Cut the yarn leaving a very long tail and pull it through the last loop.

Using the yarn tail, sew the free end of the chain on the back of the eyeball.

Embroider the blood vessels with the remaining yarn. Tie the yarn, pull it through the eyeball and cut it.

The eyeball key-chain is finished!
