Introduction: Family Brain by Sandy Angeh Age 9

What did you make?
I made a plaster brain sculpture.
How did you make it?
A volunteer helped me mix the plaster and the water together and then we poured it into a brain mold. The next day, once it was dry I painted it in the art room. I painted each section with a different color for a member of my family. I used all of their favorite colors to represent the people in my family. My dad's favorite color is white, my mom's is green, my sister's is pink and my favorite color is purple.
Where did you make it?
I made it in the art room at the Boys and Girls Club. It was the project of the week because we were learning about the brain sculptures Jill Bolte Taylor created and put around Bloomington.
What did you learn?
I learned about plaster. I had never used plaster before and I didn't know you could mix plaster powder and water to make a sculpture.
