Introduction: Farscape Moya Starship Crochet Pattern

About: My goal is to provide the most accurate, detailed, and clear crochet instructions possible. I spend many hours writing, designing, proof-reading, and testing each pattern. Each pattern includes step-by-step ph…

You can crochet a soft-sculpture version of the spaceship/leviathan Moya from the sci-fi series, "Farscape." Moya is an organic starship, like Star Trek's Enterprise crossed with a sea creature. I am offering my pattern as a labor of love for the small, loyal fan base of the cancelled TV series.

FOR MORE FARSCAPE FUN: I have Talyn, Chiana, Sizoku, and Rygel crochet patterns for sale in my shop, janageek.etsy.com.

Pattern is for those with intermediate crochet skills and basic needle-work skills. Ship parts are made in spiral rounds. To make ship, you will need to know how to:
-- read a crochet pattern
-- chain
-- slip stitch
-- single crochet
-- single crochet decrease or invisible decrease
-- half double crochet

Pattern includes:
-- definitions of stitch abbreviations
-- materials list, including recommended yarn brands and colors and where to find materials
-- links to helpful online crochet tutorials

If you want to learn to crochet and make amigurumi (dolls), I highly recommend the tutorials on www.planetjune.com by June Gilbank. Her book, "Complete Idiot's Guide to Amigurumi" is a great resource.

I have made Ka D'Argo and Rygel dolls, and I will soon be designing a Chiana doll. I have also just finished designing a Talyn ship that is about 9 inches long. I have not written up the patterns for these yet, but I hope to within the next 3 months. If you don't see it here, check my Etsy shop at www.etsy.com/shop/JanaGeek.
