Intro: Faux Fur Infinity Scarf D.i.y.

Inspired by all of the cozy looking faux fur winter accessories (but a little put off by their high price tags) and infinity scarves ... I thought it might be fun to combine the two by making a faux fur infinity scarf!  This project is VERY easy (takes less than an hour to complete!) and super inexpensive (especially if you use one of those frequent 50% single item coupons that JoAnn's Fabric or Michael's has ... I scored the faux fur I used for under $4!!!).

Get ready to stay warm - while looking sweetly fashionable - this winter!

STEP 1: Supplies

What you'll need:

    1/2 yard of faux fur fabric (36 - 44" wide)
    Thread to match
    Scissors
    Pins
    Sewing Machine

STEP 2: Sew It Up

Fold fabric in half the long way with right sides together.  Pin and stitch ~1/2" in from edge.

STEP 3: Finish the Edges

Fold up one end ~1".  Pin and stitch.  Repeat on other side.

STEP 4: Close the "loop"

Turn right-side-out.  Tuck in one end into the other to form a "circle" with the scarf and stitch closed.

STEP 5: VIOLA ...

In 3 simple steps you now have a luxurious faux-fur infinity scarf ... perfect for keeping your neck warm and toasty (and your look totally stylish) in the icy cool winter days that lay ahead.

When you're folding up the one end, pinning and stitching in the "Finishing" step, then going to "the other side" and repeating,, are you talking the other side of the same end that you just stitched? Do you leave one end unstitched and tuck that raw end into the end that you stitched? I'm not much of a seamstress, and this part is a little confusing to me. I can't wait to try this. Thanks for the idea!

the correct spelling is "voila". it's French. French is a beautiful language, but it can be difficult to spell correctly.

Awesome scarf! And I must admit, it is not easy to take a textile that, lets be frank, executed poorly can turn out tacky. But you made it look classic and chic!
