Draw the straightest line from the point to the line.

Step 4:

Determine the distance formula.

Step 5:

Plug in the X's for X and the Y's for Y.

Step 6:

Do what is in the parenthesis first.

Step 7:

Then square your answer.

Step 8:

Add your answers

Step 9:

Take the square root to go your answer.
