Introduction: Firefly Card With Conductive Ink
For this card you'll need:
- Dark cardstock (I used half of a 8.5 x 11 sheet of black cardstock)
- Chibitronics LED sticker
- Circuit Scribe conductive ink pen
- Coin cell battery
- Silver pen
- White paper
- Glue or tape
- Paperclip (I used a pretty flower one)
Step 1: Making the Card
Fold the cardstock in half to make a card.
Fold over one corner, this is where the battery will go. You may find it helpful to trace the battery on the corner before folding it, so you know the fold is deep enough.
With the corner folded down, draw a jar with silver ink. You can use a gel pen or a permanent metallic marker or both (I used a gel pen for the sides and a Sharpie marker for the lid).
Unfold the corner and draw a circuit.
Attach the LED sticker.
To make the firefly, cut a heart shape out of white paper. Fold back the ends to form the wings of the firefly. Glue or tape the paper firefly on top of the LED sticker.
Step 2: Add the Battery
Put the battery in the folded corner and secure it in place with a paperclip. I used a pretty flower clip, but any paperclip will work.
Add a message inside and give the card to someone you love.
