Introduction: First Time Coiling of Copper Tubing.
This is how I went about to quickly make a coil of copper tubing. This 1/4 inch tubing is left over material from air conditioning units.
Step 1: Something to Roll On.
I used this pvc pipe to support the tubing while I got my Roll on.
Step 2: Rolling It.
Starting with an end held it firmly To the pvc pipe and gently wrapped it in a coil. I kept firm pressure pulling away from the pvc to ensure kink free coils.
Once done I used my tubing cutter to free the end.
Once done I used my tubing cutter to free the end.
Step 3: The Finished Coil.
Sliding the new coil out of the pvc pipe, here is my first ever hand rolled copper tubing coil.
I lesson I learnt is that the bigger the diameter of pvc pipe used the better the results as in zero chance of kinks. Typically at least 10 to 1 ratio of diameters for pvc pipe to copper tubing.
