Introduction: Flashlight Tag With Lilypad
Using Lilypad and some other pieces, build a suit to play flashlight tag with your friends.
Step 1: Parts
1 Battery
1 Old T-Shirt
1 Rectangular piece of fabric
5 LED's
1 Light Sensor
1 Lilypad Arduino
1 Vibration Motor
Conductive Thread and Needle
Insulated Wire (and wire strippers)
1 Light Wooden Board
Step 2: Add the LED's
Stitch the LED's in parallel to one another, connecting the - terminal of each one to the same point.
Step 3: Stitch to the Arduino
Connect each LED to the arduino, as shown.
Step 4: Prepare the Vibration Motor
Attach conductive thread to the pins on the vibration motor, then place it flat on the board.
Step 5: Secure the Motor
Secure the motor with electric tape.
Step 6: Assemble!
Flip over the wooden board, and secure the cloth. Then, stitch the pins from the motor to the A4 pin and ground pin of the arduino.
Step 7: Attach the Insulated Wire
Hook the ends of the insulated wire through the ground pin, the hot pin, and the A5 pin. Cinch tightly.
Step 8: Sew the Shirt
Sew a large pocket into the inside of the shirt, large enough to fit the board. Place the board into the pocket, with the motor facing inwards.
Step 9: Attach the Sensor
Poke the other end of the wire through the shirt. Wire the ground to the - pin, wire the power supply to the + pin, and wire pin A5 to the S pin by hooking and cinching, as before.
Step 10: Install the Code
An initial program can be found at my github, but don't be afraid to modify it and play around!
Step 11: Turn It On!
...and go play!
