Intro: Fleece Tie Blankets

Have you ever wanted to make a fleece blanket before? Well now you can! Follow these instructions on how to make your first fleece tie blanket.

Items you will need:
2 separate pieces of fleece in your length of choice (we suggest 2 yds)
scissors
ruler

STEP 1: Aligning Fabrics

Lay fabric pieces on top of each other on the floor.

Try to align the edges the best you can.

STEP 2: Cutting Off Excess

Cut off excess fabric on each side so that all sides line up evenly. This will make a square or rectangle shape.

TIP: To keep the fabric held together you can safety pin the fabric after you have cut off excess fabric.

WARNING: Please be careful when using scissors.

STEP 3: Cutting the Corners

Measure and cut out a 4 inch square in each corner of the fabric.

STEP 4: Cutting Strips

Cut 1 inch wide and 4 inch long strips along each edge of the fabric.

Make sure you hold fabric pieces together while cutting.

To ensure alignment and keep the blanket together double knot each 4th strip.

Repeat for all 4 sides.

STEP 5: Tying the Edges

Double knot the remaining stips on each side.

Make sure the blanket is flat while tying the strips.

STEP 6: Finished Product

Now your blanket is complete!!

Can you use cotton fabric also or only fleece?

can you use cotton for the fabric also?

cotton would fray and eventually fall apart after many washing so. Fleece will last a very long time done this way.

Our bottom corners ended up rounded. What did we do wrong, and how do we fix it?
I would suggest pinning the pieces together before you start tying to keep the pieces from sliding around. Nice -ible!
