Introduction: Flower Power Tights

The botanic fantasy has now been captured by most designers for autumn/winter 2013 the form of floral tights. Kristina Ti presented herbaceous vine print in a dark tinge of plum over a misty shade of white in her tights. The patterned tights were well-suited to a loose mesh of dusty colour that topped them off in the form of a jumper. This was then layered with a fluffy olive-green throw cardigan that helped dramatize the tights.

Layering these floral tights with similar shades of varied textures makes brings them across exceptionally well, whilst maintaining a look of moderate feminine reserve. In contrast to that, Desigual brings out the print in an exuberant bohemian manner. The gothic undertone is maintained with a pair of chain-linked bronze ankle boots and grey wool dress with a thick rainbow coloured neckline.

Despite the vibrancy of colours used to add a flower child feel to the outfit, the tangerine red base of the patterned tights gets overridden by an entanglement of dark green and maroon vines printed over the top. The dynamically patterned tights are perfect for pairing with earthly shades of grey, black and brown to counteract the striking medley of colours.

Nevertheless, in the end, the efflorescent fusion looks best in lacy fabric and stays elegant in classic shades of black and white. This medieval gothic luxury resonates in ensembles by red carpet and bridal designer, Monique L’Huillier. She projects the trend vividly through the striking black fairy dress she paired alongside an intricately decorated set of lace leggings.

The lace of the leggings matches the netted neckline of the dress with a bat-woman style black bodied pulling the whole piece together neatly. The black leggings are whimsically crocheted with designs of spider webs and peacock style leaves, creating a mystical illusion on the aquatic green background set during New York fashion week.
