Introduction: Foil Dinners

About: When I was six, my parents bought me a marble contraption set, and I have been building stuff since! I love to tinker, mess with, and just build stuff in my free time!

Have you ever wanted to have a filling camping dinner without much work? It's very hard to have a dinner that the whole family or group will like. But there is a solution, FOIL DINNERS! I'm in boy scouts, and I have made foil dinners 4 times so far for the scouts, and everyone enjoyed them, with medium well patties, carrots, potatoes, and onions cooked over the fire, you can't go wrong! These meals cost about $3 each! The meal also has very few dishes, which is perfect for camping, and this meal can also go with a side dish of mac-and-cheese and fruit.

Step 1: Gather Your Materials

You will need;

1 potato for every 2 dinners

1 carrot for every 2 dinners

1 onion for every 12-14 dinners

1/2 pound of meat per 2 dinners

1 sharp knife

1 potato peeler

1 cutting board

and fire wood

You may also want;

Fruit

Mac and Cheese

a Shovel

and a Fire Grate

Step 2: Start a Fire

Foil dinners are cooked over coals, so you need to start a fire before you start preparing your meal. Make sure you have enough coals before you start cooking the foil dinners.

Step 3: Preparing Your Meal

First, distribute the patties to the correct amount for everyone to get an equal amount. Then, get a cutting board and a peeler and peel the potatoes, then cut them into 1/4 to 1/2 pieces, depending if you like them overdone or underdone. Next, chop the carrots into 1/4 pieces. Finally, cut the onion and distribute everything to each foil dinner. You are now finished with preparing your meal!

Step 4: Folding Your Meal

Fold two sides of the foil in, and roll in one side that is open. Then, grab the first two sides you folded, and pinch them together. Make sure anything won't fall apart, and there is one opening. Next, add 2 tablespoons of water to each foil dinner. Finally, close and pinch the last hole tight.

Step 5: Put Em' in and Let Em' Cook

Spread your coals evenly (make sure there are no flames). Then, put the foil dinners either on the fire grate or the fire pit with the help of a shovel. You should flip the dinners after 15 minutes and they should be done in 30 minutes. Make sure you check on your coals and add more if you need more coals.

Step 6: Enjoy!!!

I hope you enjoy foil dinners a s much as I do!!!
