Intro: French Crepes

A thin delicate pancake served savoury or sweet.


Prep time: 5 min

Cook time: 20 min

Total time: 25 min

STEP 1: Step1:

In a medium sized mixing bowl combine the flour and salt together with a whisk.

STEP 2: Step 2:

In a seperate smaller bowl whisk together the eggs and milk.

STEP 3: Step 3:

Pour wet ingredients into the bowl with the dry ingredients, a 1/4 at a time, whisking until smooth. Pour the melted butter into the crepe batter and whisk until combined.

STEP 4: Step 4:

Cover the crepe batter with plastic wrap and leave in the fridge to rest over night or if limited for time 1 hour.

STEP 5: Step 5:

Heat a large frypan or crepe pan over medium heat. Grease the pan with melted butter and pour in about a 1/4 cup of crepe batter. use a crepe tool or tip the pan around to spread the batter evenly.

STEP 6: Step 6:

Cook the crepe for 30 seconds to a minute or until the top has set, flip the crepe using a spatula and your hands and cook for a further 30 seconds on the remaining side.

STEP 7: Step 7:

Serve your crepes filled with your favourite filling.

Are you sure it's french??? If so, what makes it french?
As far as i understand (from viewpoint switzerland) an omelette is with additional ingredients like beacon, veggies, ... and is normally quite thick.
A french crepe is only the plain thing in a very thin version...
In german we call it "Crepe" in switzerland, but "french crepe" in english... So yeah... It is a naming-thing propably... Same as French fries arent french really... Or Hamburgers dont come from Hamburg or Berliner arent originally from Berlin...
