Tutorial : French seam, flat french seam and flat felled seam.
STEP 1:
Pin wrong sides together and place in sewing machine at 1.5 cm seam allowance and sew the entire seam.
STEP 2:
Trim the seam allowance down to 0.5 cm
STEP 3:
Press the seam allowance flat to one side, on the right side.
STEP 4:
Pin the layres right sides together, along the pressed edge.
STEP 5:
Into the sewing machine again sew the entire seam, with 1 cm seam allowance.
STEP 6:
Press on the wrong side of the French seam to one side. Press also on the side and you've done.
STEP 7:
I would like a flat seam, so I proceed further, adding one more seam.
STEP 8:
Now I go on with the flat felled seam. Two layers of fabric, wrong sides together.
STEP 9:
Pin the layers together.
STEP 10:
Sew the entire seam at 1,5 cm seam allowance.
STEP 11:
Press seam open.
STEP 12:
Trim one side of the seam allowance to 0.3 cm.
STEP 13:
Fold and press flat the wider seam allowance over the narrower one.
STEP 14:
Edgestich.
