Introduction: Funda-Libro Sony PRS-T1 Book-Cover

This is my second instructable. A cover for the last sony ebook reader, which simulates the appearance of a book.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sorry to English-speakers, but google translate make the hard-work for me...

Step 1: Materiales Y a Cortar!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

First I will list everything you need.

A reader of e-books (in this case the sony prs-t1) But this tutorial can be extrapolated to any readers and tablets.
Sheets of paper.
Cardboard.
Binding caps / carton.
Cardboard , if you will have to accommodate hard, if the soft adapt (my choice) and if you do it you know you, XD
Glue, brush and water. Hot melt glue gun (or the burner if you can not wait to heat it)
Cutter, scissors and cutting surface.
Metal ruler, pencil or pen.
Maybe a lighter.
Fabric color and texture you prefer. Thin , since the sides will double layer.
Clamps to hold the areas to be bonded.

And the mess. The first is to draw you a diagram on paper, I did directly draw the outline of the reader, and then refined measures and rule. Once cast, disconnect all the papers, I went to a repro and I cut with the guillotine to cut cards.

The sheet that I have the original design of the reserve just in case.

After cutting around the block as (what were my A4, the first cut in half to A5 size, then the surplus is not if you notice, half labeled in the drawing.) We will "bind" gluing all that is the back side. I hold them tightly and let dry. I take a good layer of glue undiluted, and in half an hour or so already.

We must be careful to "bind" a pad that is thicker than the thickness of the reader, and after drying, you can remove bits and leaves until the same thickness.

When ready the book, we clean drawing with the pen, and prepare for the difficult step.

Step 2: Abrimos El Agujero.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This step is simple to explain but difficult and expensive to run.

What you need to do is a hole in which fits our reader.

Very important, whether to cover with thick cloth or felt, must take into account the thickness and make the hole bigger, so that then we between the reader.

Now, with the rule straight cuts and carefully hand curved cut with the cutter we cut little by little.

Do not try to do too much cutting at a time, since the blade tends to go wrong, and besides, as you go forward, you will see that cut leaves and nodding a lot, because they only have an inch of material around and are only subject to the spine gluing .

Little by little you go checking if it gets the reader, and so see the bottom.

It is virtually impossible that the cut is perfectly straight, so it's okay if it moves a little. A LITTLE!

Step 3: Encolamos El Interior. Rigidez!

Otro paso super sencillo.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Another super simple step.

White glue with some water, I have not diluted at all, just the water helped me to extend, must imbue all inside the paper, we have cut the hole.

After the first layer is important to any weight so as not all the sheets to bow under the effect of moisture from the queue + water.

Then I've stuck a card in the background as the basis for the lining and not bulge too.

A couple of capes over tail through the hole, and you will see as taking shape. Now you are rigid, and the outer corners behave like a regular notebook.

Finally, a gap that will direct access to the power button and the pins. I tried to be a subtle thing, and that was escondidito, but not comfortable, so in this step, instead of making that hole, just up until you cut from cardboard and retiráis entire block, in photos below you will see what I mean.

Step 4: Es La Hora De Las Telas!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This step has been planned on the fly, ie, cuts the fabric and order line, all improvised.

We look for a fabric to our liking, and we put the reader, pinning the fabric in the hollow of the paper. You have a little left over around the perimeter.

We draw the reader, and make the appropriate cuts in the corners and in the hollow area of the pendant. It is easier if the previous step and I have done if you have removed the "bridge" role.

Impregnad entire bottom and edges of tail watery pegáis fabric, smoothing with your fingers.

I got the reader in a plastic bag and stuffed it down into the hole to make pressure. BAD IDEA! Do not do it because it pulls the fabric down and causes wrinkles. Extend WITH FINGERS AND LET DRY.

Once dry we cut fringes and leftovers.

Do not worry if the cloth is soaked in glue and water stains are! The tail is transparent and the moisture evaporates, when everything is dry homogeneous.

Step 5: A Forrar Cantos.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now wi will cover upper edges.

I started on the short sides. Here, you will see that I have already gotten rid of the bridge of paper and I left the bottom hole of the pendant in the air.

Cut strips of fabric to cover the inside edge and the upstairs area, and about a bit. And we keep working the same pattern as the previous step. Glued and hold with your fingers, when we will go dry by the next piece.

Once we have the top and bottom, prepare the long sides.

In these whether to have a little more care, they must have an accurate, to fit the interior shape, and ends up at an angle of 45 degrees to the corners.

As you can see, the linings of the short sides overlap a bit about the area of the long sides. So it will all be covered and will not see the white of the paper we do not want anywhere.

Cut fringes and leftovers, and test the reader.

Step 6: Toque Finales.

Otro paso totalmente improvisado!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here I thought I was done, but I found it a bit difficult to draw the reader of the case, so I decided to put a tape to remove it, as in devices having many batteries.

Another step is completely improvised!

Cut a piece of a ribbon, or strips of the same fabric as the lining, and put them in this way, better to put only one, and does not dance to get it out.

Cut as checking and have plenty of stick. For this step I used hot glue.

We took the two ends are on the right by two small cuts we will have done on cardboard and cloth. And also stuck behind hot melt glue.

So is sticking with the eyelash.

Step 7: Elstica!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

elejir o elegir
And we also put a rubber band, sorry for mine, but only had this at home.

Disconnect the piece of elastic, so that it has twice the sleeve length. And the insert by the two courts also have to be applied on the bottom of the bag, and subjected the ends, the inner zone, which was not seen when the reader is put in place. I've attached with hot glue, you can sew if you want.

If we did, when we pass the elastic forward, make the right tension to hold not overtighten.

Now for the final step, the tops!

Step 8: Tapas!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

These caps are from a book I bought in the Chinese, are "skin" squishy, those whose pockets inside, which fit the front and back on what you have inside.

In this case was larger than I need, because starting from scratch with the paper as I have to adjust to that extent. Change you can buy a rubber Take note blok type of "Oxford" and make the hole, and you have everything tailored and fitted, but this is recycling, and crafts!

Topic: Put the lined notebook we've done inside the case, and adjusted so that about right, based around a millimeter.

Metal ruler and cutter. Once cut, as we will have loaded the "purses" we have to sew with the machine again for the sides that we cut. In my case my wife did.

Remember those covers bound we discussed in the materials list? Here enter, disconnect one of them to a size less than about 5 mm width and 10 mm height less than that our case,

And the stick from behind, set to the margin of the spine. And this part fit your purse for the covers.

Step 9: The End.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is the end.

He goes into the purse of the other side the other cover we cut to have stiffness, and as an optional step, you can paste the side to the top so it does not lift when we opened the "book".

It's finally finished!

Add a video to see the final product in "working".
